Guraso estimatuak Ikasturte honetan,“Ready for a story!” eta “The adventures of Hocus and Lotus” materialarekin ikasiko du ingelesa zuen umeak. Hizkuntza bat ikasten dugunean, batez ere beste lagunekin gauza interesgarriak egiteko erabiltzen dugunean ikasten dugu. Izan ere, erabilera jakin batek sortzen digun intentsitatea eta emozioa baitira ikasketaren subjektu aktibo bihurtzen gaituztenak. Horregatik, eta printzipio horretan oinarrituz, ingelesa ikasteko bide berri bat irekitzen da “Ready for a story” eta “The adventures of Hocus eta Lotus” jarraituz. Haurrek taldean antzeztuko dituzte istorio edo ipuinak. Gero, ipuin horiek lan gehigarri batzuekin osatuko dira: abesti, mural,.... Horrela, jarduera hauetako bakoitzak, ipuinak ingelesez berbizitzeko eta hizkuntza ikasteko aukera berri bat emango diote zuen haurrari.


Eleanitz (Plurilingualism Project ) Project started in 1991 in response to a demand by schools and parents to ensure the mastery of the two official languages and to find a more adequate answer to the teaching of foreign languages in school system. The project attempts to answer this demand in several ways: 1.- The development of an integrated curriculum for all languages. 2.- The creation of adequate materials and methods for the different age groups. 3.-The provision of the teacher training. 4.- The evaluation of all aspects of the projects but especially the pupils’ results. 5.- Conditions to be fulfilled to take part in the project. The project started in 1991 with 8 schools and 500 pupils and nowadays has over 70 schools and over 22.000 students. The aims for English for the end of compulsory Secondary Schooling are: 1.- To be able to carry out basic inter-personal spoken and written communication. 2.- To use English as a vehicular language in order to study a subject at school. 3.- To be aware of, and able to reflect on , the structure of the English language and conduct some contrastive analysis between the different languages. This school year (2005- 06), your children are going to learn English with “ Ready for Story” and “The adventures of Hocus and Lotus” . “Ready for Story” has been developed by J.M: Artigal over last 20 years. It is based in collectively dramatised stories,which becomes the first meaningful use of the language. The dramatised stories are supplemented by songs, murals, drawing sheets,..... “The adventures of Hocus and Lotus” started within a European project and developed here since 1993. It consists of collectively dramatised stories, 6 stories each year in a dialogue form and the pupils act out and live the experiences in English. In this cycle, the pupils begin to work with the stories in a written form. The emphasis is on motivating the pupils to experiment with and enjoy the written language, not on correct reading and writing.
